How hard is it to replace a hardwired smoke detector system? - hardwired smoke detectors

My house is wired smoke detectors to the other and apparently very cheap (from the 66 degrees). The difficulty would be to replace, too? My husband is currently in military use, and I've never played with before installation. Kidde smoke alarms are. There is room in the main room (6 in total I think)
